Capuchon

Definition:

A capuchon is a hat that is almost entirely associated with Mardi Gras in New Orleans and other places in the southern part of Louisiana. The hat is shaped like a cone and is vividly decorated uses lively colors, shapes and textures.

It’s also common for the capuchon to be decorated in a way to match a Mardi Gras costume or theme and to be accompanied by a mask.
